Designed in 1931 by Charles “Steam Shovel” Banks, the course is renowned for its challenging and exaggerated features, such as the steep and deeply recessed bunkers and enormous, undulating greens. The course recreates some of the historic and famous holes found at the great courses of Scotland and Europe.
GOLF Magazine’s panel of experts recently named the best courses in each state for 2020-2021. Forsgate’s Banks Course was listed at No. 13 out of the 15 courses recognized in New Jersey.
The Top 100 Golf Courses panel updated its U.S. Best in State ratings and Forsgate’s Banks Course moved to No. 13 on the list of 75 New Jersey courses they reviewed.
