Patricia S. Norton
Pat has been actively involved in golf public relations, sports marketing and event management for some 40 years. As a managing partner of On Course Strategies, Pat directs national and international public relations campaigns for an impressive list of golf industry clients.
Highlights of Pat’s extensive professional experience include the executive directorships of the former LPGA JAL (later Sybase) Big Apple Classic and the Lexus Champions for Charity national grass roots golf series that introduced Lexus to the U.S. market. In 1996, she co-founded the largest women’s grass roots golf initiative, Rally For A Cure, that she developed for Golf For Women magazine and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Pat won the Mary Bea Porter Humanitarian Award, given by the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association, for the program which has raised more than $77 million for breast cancer research.
Before joining forces with colleague Jane Dally to form On Course Strategies LLC, Pat founded Norton Communications. She created and executed numerous events and programs for high profile clients that included Fortune Magazine, the NASDAQ Stock Market, Ralph Lauren fragrances, the National Golf Coaches Association, Senior Golfer Magazine and others.
Pat formerly was director of communications and sponsor relations for the LPGA. She also worked for Octagon, one of the world’s premier sports marketing companies, and she was the first PR director for the New York Times Magazine Group, whose publications included Golf Digest and Tennis.
In 2005, Pat became the first woman president in the then 54-year history of the Metropolitan (New York) Golf Writers Association, a post she held through 2008. She also served for 12 years as chairperson of the MGWA’s annual national golf awards dinner. She remains on the MGWA Board and is a longtime member of the Golf Writers Association of America.
Before pursuing a career in sports, Pat was a lecture fellow in 19th century British and American Literature at the University of Leeds (England). She also was a regional producer with the BBC. Credentials include the role as chief researcher for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s history of the College of William and Mary book project.
Pat holds a Masters degree in English Literature from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Elmira College. In 2008, Elmira honored her with its Most Distinguished Achievement Award.
Jane Dally
Jane is a marketing and communications executive with 25 years experience in sports marketing, public relations, special event coordination, new product launches and key market national publicity programs.
Past agency experience includes Manning, Selvage & Lee, Ogilvy & Mather and Cohn & Wolfe working on national sports programs. Prior to working with these PR firms, Jane spent more than five years in the pharmaceutical business with American Home Products Corporation.
In 1997, Jane became an independent consultant to such companies as Sprint, The Arthur Ashe Athletic Association, Spalding Sports Worldwide, Quadrax Golf Shafts, and FEEL Golf. She has been sub-contracted by firms to work on behalf of Yonex golf equipment, Nickent Golf, and others.
A 1982 graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa, Jane earned a B.A. in Mass Communications and Marketing.
Jane is a board member of The Women's Sports Foundation, a charter member of the Executive Women's Golf Association, and a member of both the International Network of Golf and the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association. A competitive golfer, Jane resides in Westport, Connecticut.
